Abundance and Gratitude

Morning all – and what a beautiful morning it is. I could feel the bite of the autumn air this morning whilst on my early morning walk. I even put Tina’s woolly jumper on her!

I want to continue the theme of abundance and gratitude this morning and while I sit and think about this ‘friends’ come to my mind. Past, present and future friends and the meaning of friends in my life, our life. Without our friends to help us out, to point out the things that we cannot see and the difficulties we do not want to see. Together with how our own vulnerabilities can determine how we reach both inwardly and outwardly to them, our friends become our guides of our own wellbeing our own understanding of ourselves.

Our friends become an indicator of how receptive we are to our own understanding of self, and often how we show up in the world. When we have good friends, we can both laugh and cry together and as so often is the case, just be with them. Friendships can also come and go like the changing seasons, like the autumn wind blowing away the leaves from a whole season of growth. Some friends just blow away.

Other friends stay for years and years like the mighty Oak and some pass over into another light, and we mourn their loss and the abundance they once gave us. We mourn the nourishment and enrichment that our deceased friends once brought into our world.

Some friends we do not see from one season to the next but when we meet it was just like yesterday.

So, my thoughts drift to my friends and I think for certain, if you can count your friends and I mean the good ones who you know that will catch you if you fall. Those friends, if you can count those friends on one hand, like me, you have abundance a plenty and with that abundance like me, deep gratitude follows. To our friends.
